In 2016 the Beltrami County solid waste responsibilities moved from the Environmental Services Department to the County Highway Department and hired a Solid Waste Manager under the Highway Engineer's direction.
The Solid Waste Department aims to ensure that viable outlets for waste materials are available to the residents of Beltrami County. Over a 10 year planning period, the goal is to expand its programs in order to continue to provide County Residents and businesses with an environmentally responsible, reliable, sustainable, convenient, and cost effective solid waste management program.
