ADVERTISEMENT Kick'n Up Kountry CEO Gives Thanks A week following Kick'n Up Kountry music festival's most successful turnout to date, Kick'n Up Kountry CEO Ardell Larson is taking a moment to reach out and thank all who made it possible. Over 15,000 people passed through the gates of Wagon Wheel Ridge throughout the 4-day event, breaking the festival's previous attendance record by more than 2.5 times. Ms. Larson founded Kick'n Up Kountry back in 2004. "As I step down from my position as CEO of Kick'n Up Kountry, I would like to thank Mr. Glen Brazier and his staff at Mattracks and Wagon Wheel Ridge for the amazing trib- ute honoring my 18 years of Kick'n Up Kountry accomplish- ments," says Larson. "It means a lot to be honored in such a lovely manner in front of the very people that we do this for." In an unbelievable send off presentation which took place at the festival on the evening of Saturday, June 19th, Ms. Larson was honored for her 18 years of accomplishments and also made the announcement that she has decided to step down from her position as KUK CEO. "Our success would not have happened without the help of the city of Karlstad, the Lake Bronson/Karlstad Fire De- partments, the Karlstad Lions Club, security staff and Bill Frazier for his catering work," says Larson. "I'd also like to thank Kerry Wright who handles all the event produc- tion along with her assistant, Pattijo Shablow. Paul Fuller our stage manager, who keeps the show running on sched- ule, Richard DeLaHunt and Marlene Anderson who MC the event, and Dave Chrzanowski who captures the festival on video also deserve a round of applause." "I cannot even begin to thank the many great volunteers and people that have helped me along this exciting journey, says Larson. "The sponsors for which this great event would not be possible truly deserve a standing ovation. I'd be honored to see their continued support for years to come." Ardell Larson ended her statement of thanks by saying, "It's truly heartwarming to see my goal of increasing our atten- dance record to near capacity finally become a reality. There have been many roadblocks along the way, but with the help and determination of many, I was able to conquer them and achieve my goal. I plan to remain in the background to help as much as possible."
