NUTRITION : How can I be more successful with my New Year's resolution(s) this year? . Great question. This is the time of vear for change! Right about now is when I start to get an nslaught of emails and people calling to have me help them set up their goals for the new vear. I love oals, and every vear I design a few myself. However, Licensed Dictitian overall I feel we can improve how we view resolutions and how they are set. One of the reasons that so many people fall away from resolutions, is that too often they are focused on the negative. By design they force you to look at what you aren't doing right, or what you feel you should change about vourself, rather than addressing the things you are already doing well. It's not as exciting to make a resolution to just continue something you are doing: there is no major transformation or a "New You to step into with that. Making a resolution to "lose 20 pounds" sounds more exciting and gets you the recognition from colleagues and friends for a job well done Jessica Carter Registered and If you want to be successful with any goals in life, then it's time to change the direction of your thoughts. Instead of always looking at what's going wrong, it's time to start thinking about what is going right, That is where our success lies. If you can make a resolution or set a goal that piggy acks off of things you are alread for success. Example: if you are already eating some fruits and veggies maybe you set a goal to increase your veggie servings each month. Or maybe you set a goal to eat one serving more on the weekends. Make it tangible and measureable, not abstract and unattainable. Remember, your oals are unique to you. Just because Jane two desks down lost 20 pounds y exc lling at, then you set yourself up st year doing the whole 30 cleanse, doesn't mean it will work for vou encourage you to come in and visit with me and sort out a goal that uses vour strengths and focuses on the positives in vour life to help vou move forward with better health. If you do this I can just about promise you will get the transformation you seek! CORE2001 218-556-9089 1900 Division St., Unit 1 Bemidji, MN HEALTH & NUTRITION corchealthbemidji.com
